Growing up, my family always told me that my job was to do my best in school, and that they would do everything they could to help me reach my goals.

This plan worked well for me.

Enabled by this support, I was able to make some academic achievements over the years including scoring in the 90th percentile on the ACT, receiving multiple full-ride scholarships to college, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Richmond, scoring in the 99th percentile on the GMAT, and graduating from Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, as well as Harvard Business School with first-year academic honors.

Along this journey, I have often been one of few people of color in the room. Many in our society believe either explicitly or implicitly that this is because there are somehow fewer black and brown students capable and willing to put in the required effort.

I founded Integrated Learning because I know in my bones that this isn’t true; I hold the unwavering belief that ALL students can achieve academic excellence when provided the necessary opportunities and support, regardless of their ethnicity, nationality, or economic status. I will use the plan that worked for me to support others.
